St. Lucia is a beautiful little island nation just north of South America, in the Lesser Antillean island chain. Despite its small size, St. Lucia is home to a number of endemic animals, including the Fer-de-Lance Bothrops caribbaeus, and critically endangered St. Lucia Racer Liophis ornatus and White Breasted Thrasher Ramphocinclus brachyurus. Although my time was spent helping the beautiful Kate Freeman chase birds, there were plenty of (nonavian) reptile tangents.
